Automotive technology center to be featured inTime magazine

Richland One's award-winning automotive technology program at Heyward Career and Technology Center will be in the national spotlight this summer. The August 14 issue of Time magazine highlights the program in conjunction with a profile of the Dick Dyer Toyota dealership, which won the Toyota President's Award.

Heyward students have been so well trained in automotive technology that the Dick Dyer dealership offered them internships. The article gives high praise to Richland One student Jesse James, who was trained at Heyward and subsequently hired by Dick Dyer Toyota. Heyward is the only high school in the Midlands that currently holds national certification for its automotive technology program. The article will appear only in subscribers' issues of Time magazine.
