The Richland County Public Library and the Colonial Center are hosting It's a Slam Dunk! through October 17. It is a reading contest that encourages teens to get active at the library. The program rewards teens ages 13-19 for reading with the chance to win four tickets to the NBA preseason showdown between the Indiana Pacers and the Charlotte Bobcats. 9293434.

CHURCH/CHARITY

Shandon Baptist Church will host a single parent family seminar, Sept. 23 from 8:30 am-3 pm. Registration cost is $10/individual and $15/family when turned in by Sept. 19. FAMILY

The City of Columbia will open enrollment for the fall Learn-to-Swim Program at the Charles R. Drew Wellness Center. There will be five (two week) sessions consisting of eight classes for children and adults. Classes will be from 6-6:45 pm, Mon.-Thurs. The cost is $15 for members and $30 for non-members. 545-3200.
