Event planned atop RichlandMall

Eddie Wales of the Forest Acres Restaurant Association requested and received $17,000 from Forest Acres City Council for a free Fall Music Festival to be held on the rooftop of Richland Mall.

This community event will be held from 6-9 pm September 14, 21, 28, and October 5. Each evening's entertainment will be provided by local and regional musicians.

Event coordinators are in the process of scheduling calypso, pop covers, blues, and bluegrass nights. They are negotiating with groups like Elliot and the Untouchables, Tootie and the Jones, and the Black Bottom Biscuits, among others.

This outdoor event is "a bring your own chairs" family affair. Concessions sales will be sponsored by local restaurants and merchants. No coolers are allowed. Organizers envision a great way to spend some time with family and friends in Forest Acres including awesome music among good company under the stars.
