Lauren Louise Bunch and John Gabriel Coggiola were married September 30, 2006, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, at 7 pm. The Rev. Dr. David Anthony Williams performed the double-ring ceremony. Music was provided by Dr. Charles R. Renick, harpist. The Plantation Singers performed for the recessional.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Henry Bunch III. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Steven Burch of Oates, South Carolina, and the late Dr. and Mrs. George Henry Bunch Jr. The bride graduated from Heathwood Hall Episcopal School and the College of Charleston with a B.S. in health promotion. She also earned a B.S.N. from the Medical University of South Carolina and is an RN at Palmetto Health Baptist's Birthplace in Columbia.
The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Lesley McAllister Coggiola of Columbia and Dr. Donald Anthony Coggiola of Charleston. His grandparents are the late Mrs. Eleanor Porter McAllister of Washington, D.C., and the late Mr. John Tower McAllister of New York, New York, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Donald Coggiola of Homewood, Illinois. The bridegroom graduated from Heathwood Hall Episcopal School and the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in history and the University of South Carolina Law School with a juris doctor. He is an attorney with McAngus, Goudelock, and Courie, LLC in Columbia.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of hand-sewn vintage lace designed and made by her sister, Nancy French Bunch. The maid of honor was the bride's sister. The matron of honor was Jennifer Coggiola Morgan, the bridegroom's sister, of Atlanta, Georgia. The bridesmaids were Jane Patricia Hargarten of Sullivans Island, South Carolina, and Frances Katherine Temple of Brooklyn, New York. The honorary bridesmaids were Laura Winn Hazelip of Louisville, Kentucky; Katherine Faucett Moore of Birmingham, Alabama; Emily Brooke Pruden of Charleston; Kerin Elizabeth Raleigh of Telluride, Colorado; Sarah Katherine Rock of Charleston, South Carolina; Elizabeth Hardin Towell of Camden, South Carolina; and Mrs. Jenny Tobias Young of Columbia.
The flower girls were Carolina Virginia Bunch and Claiborne Ansel Bunch, cousins of the bride. The ringbearer was Christopher William Briere Singleton of Daniel Island, South Carolina, and cousin of the bride.
The father of the bridegroom served as his son's best man. The groomsmen were William Lucas Bunch, cousin of the bride; Anthony Donald Coggiola of Spartanburg, South Carolina, brother of the bridegroom; and Gage Brooks Lewis of Washington, D.C. The ushers were Elliott Grier Allen of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; Ansel Claiborne Bunch, cousin of the bride; Jason Christopher Bybee of Mount Pleasant; Paul Edgerton Cranfill of Raleigh, North Carolina; Thomas Hamilton Davis IV of Charleston; Russell Blakeney Easterling of Daniel Island, cousin of the bride; and Christopher Leine Young of Mount Pleasant. The readers were Mrs. Diedre Coggiola Cheatham, sister of the bridegroom, of Palm Coast, Florida; Ryan Ashley Easterling, cousin of the bride of Charleston; and Mrs. Kristen Easterling Singleton of Daniel Island, cousin of the bride.
The greeters were Sarah Embry Cheatham of Palm Coast, niece of the bridegroom, and Sydney Payne Coggiola of Spartanburg, niece of the bridegroom.
The reception was held at the Mills House. After a honeymoon to the Hawaiian Islands, the couple will reside in Columbia.
