Theodora Doukas Dalonas
Services for Theodora Doukas Dalonas, 74, were held Monday, October 2, 2006, at noon at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Trisaigion Prayers were at 6 pm Sunday, October 1, with visitation until 8 pm at the church. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Building Fund, Sumter St., Columbia, S.C. 29201; Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, 50 Goddard Avenue, Brookline, Mass. 02445-7496; or American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Dr., Suite 215, Columbia, S.C. 29204. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, assisted the family.

Mrs. Dalonas died Friday, September 29, 2006. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Eustratios and Alexandra Lambrakos Doukas. She was a graduate of University High School where she received numerous scholastic awards and sang with the school choir. She also attended USC.

A lifetime member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Mrs. Dalonas was a past board member of Daughters of Penelope and St. Katherine's Philoptochos Society; member of Maids of Athens; and past member of the church choir. She enjoyed painting, singing, music, dancing, and was a lover of animals.

A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 47 years, James E. Dalonas; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory George and Jan Fogle Dalonas of Greenville; daughter and son-in-law, Deidre Dalonas Kleckley and John T. Kleckley III of Columbia; sisters, Evelyn Pulos of Columbia, Tula Phaturos of Leechburg, Pennsylvania, and Pauline Vainas of Columbia; and granddaughter, Athena Alexandra Kleckley, on whom she doted. She was predeceased by her brother, George Frank Doukas.
