Three Colonial Dames XVII Century Chapters met Saturday, October 14, 2006, at the historic Duncan Creek Presbyterian Church outside of Clinton, SC. The Captain John Chappell, Carolana, and the Kenelm Winslow Chapters held their joint meeting at this church where several members have ancestors buried in its graveyard. State President Mrs. Thomas Stallworth was present and made a few remarks. Mrs. Eric S. Hager spoke to the group on Religion in the Seventeenth Century . This church dates back to 1752, and the present building is said to be the third erected at this site. The earliest known grave dates back to 1776. After the meetings were conducted, a massive picnic was enjoyed outside in the sunshine.
