Richland County presents $1,000 to Zig the Pig

Richland County employees have spent the last two months raising money for Zig the Pig, an organization which helps South Carolina kids with cancer. Richland County knows the importance of giving back to our community and helping those in need. The county council members and employees are committed to making a difference, and Zig was personally at the Richland County Administration Building to accept the money.

Zig the Pig is a lovable zebra-striped pig who had cancer when he was a wee pig and lost his stripes. When he went into remission, he vowed to help other children going through this same disease so they would feel less scared or alone.

Today, Zig promotes pediatric cancer education and awareness, teaches children to help other children in need, and helps fund non-medical, direct needs programs for families facing this devastating disease.
