Nominations needed for the Columbia Arts Hall of Fame
Contributed by the Columbia Festival of Arts

The public will have the chance to decide who has made the ranks to be inducted into the inaugural Columbia Arts Hall of Fame in April of next year. The Hall of Fame will become an annual right of passage for those who have dedicated their time and spirits to bettering the arts and culture of the Columbia community. The Hall of Fame will be displayed prominently in the community for Columbia to appreciate and honor those who have committed themselves to arts cultivation in Columbia.

The public is invited to nominate individuals, organizations, practicing artists, or presenters who have had a continual or long-term impact on the greater Columbia area. Letters of nomination will be reviewed by the Selection Committee and should be 200 words or less. For this inaugural induction, nominees should be deceased; however, this criterion will not apply in the future. Nominations should be submitted by December 1, 2006.

The Hall of Fame will take place during the 2007 Columbia Festival of the Arts. The Columbia Festival of the Arts is a celebration of the extraordinary arts and culture that is part of the Columbia community. From April 27 to May 6, 2007 the festival will highlight and showcase the phenomenal theatre, dance, music, visual arts and museum exhibits that are an integral part of this remarkable community. Nominations may be mailed to Columbia Festival of the Arts, 1411 Gervais Street, 5th Floor, Columbia, SC 29201, or via email to halloffame-@columbiafestivalofthearts.com. The Selection Committee will not accept unsolicited portfolios or other nomination materials and reserves the right to request additional information once the nomination has been reviewed.
