Petal Pushers hold October meeting
Louise Grooms was hostess for the October meeting of the Petal Pushers Garden Club. Frances Morris and Ruth Rochal were co-hostesses. Delicious refreshments were served after the program. John Cullum, a volunteer with the Historic Columbia Foundation, was the speaker. John made history come alive with his colorful and interesting commentaries on the early development of Columbia and the famous people who lived here. Members were invited to contribute to the Garden Restoration Project. The president, Louise Grooms, presided over the business meeting. Betty Lewis, co-chairman of the council's State Fair Flower Show, reported that it was a big success, and the arrangements were spectacular. Bernice Folsom was one of the exhibitors. Donna Reesseguie and Mary Mungo were elected as new members. Shirley Smith, bird chairman, gave a report on storks. The November meeting will be at the home of Norma Frye. Nancy Reamer will be the speaker.
