Fourteen players qualify for Amateur Golf Tour Championship

Fourteen Players from the Columbia / Midlands Amateur Golf Tour qualified for the Tour Championship which is being held at Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head SC. The Amateur Golf Tour will have over 500 players from 20 tour cities who qualified playing two days of stroke play on Sat. Oct. 28 and Sun. Oct. 29.

Players are flighted and total two day gross scores are used to determine winners. Total pool prize this year will be $10,000 in gift certificates, which is given to top ten players in each flight.

The Columbia amateur golfers who qualified by flight are Championship flight Hiran Hicks; A Flight: Ron Atkinson, John Tucker, Evan Schiltz, Paul Sanderson, and Richard Wood. B Flight: Dave Thomas, Les Bradstreet, and Louie Hinson; C Flight: Kent Barker, David Nesbitt, and Jose Lagos; D Flight: David Bruce and Thomas Haddad.
