The South Carolina Bar Foundation passed a resolution honoring Nexsen Pruet for its "unwavering dedication" and "philanthropic leadership" in support of the Foundation's efforts to promote justice and enhance the legal profession.

The Foundation also recognized Julian J. Nexsen, a founding partner of the law firm, for his contributions. Nexsen helped create and organize the South Carolina Bar Foundation. He was cited for his lifetime pledge of support.

Nexsen Pruet was cited for its contributions to the Foundation's Justice Legacy and for demonstrating the importance of professionalism through creation of the Wilburn Brewer Jr. Memorial Professionalism Fund.

Wilburn Brewer, who passed away in 2003, was a former president of the SC Bar and a statewide leader in promoting ethics and professionalism in the profession. He was a partner and member of the executive board of Nexsen Pruet.

"We are very honored to receive this recognition from the SC Bar Foundation," said Leighton Lord, board chairman of Nexsen Pruet. "While it's our duty to support and enhance our profession, it is always a pleasure to work with the Bar Foundation."
