Clarence P. "Butch" Scott Jr. has joined Congaree State Bank as Senior Vice President/Chief Credit Officer. Scott brings over 26 years of banking and financial experience to Congaree State Bank. He most recently held the position of Vice President/Business Development with Business Development Corporation/Certified Development Corporation. Scott has also held senior positions with various financial institutions in the Midlands of South Carolina.

Susie Surkamer , executive director of the South Carolina Arts Commission, has been awarded a Medal of Honor in the Arts, the most prestigious award granted by Winthrop University's College of Visual and Performing Arts. She and five other recipients were recognized during a special ceremony Oct. 20 at Winthrop University.
