City remembers Veterans

The City of Columbia Department of Parks and Recreation and Columbia Action Council want to make sure veterans of the U.S. Armed Services and those currently serving the United States are personally honored and remembered this Veterans Day.

Veterans, families of those currently serving, and the general public are invited to attend a special Veterans Day ceremony at Washington and Sumter Street, Friday, Nov. 10 at 10:30 am.

The 28th annual Veterans Day parade will begin at 11 am immediately after the program. Fort Jackson Brigadier General James H. Schwitters will lead the procession of marching installations, military equipment, and school bands down Sumter Street in honor of veterans and their unwavering commitment to national service.
