Skyhawks are soaring

With the 21-6 win over Augusta Christian, the Hammond Skyhawks complete a perfect 10-0 (4-0) regular season and head into the SCISA Class 3A playoffs as the number one seed. The Skyhawks averaged 384.2 yards and 33.1 points per game and only gave up 186 yards and 10.3 points per game. They are led by three all-time record holders: linebacker Carter Scott, all-time leading tackler; Rashad Ishmael, all-time leading receiver; and Punky DaSilva, all-time leading passer.
The Hammond girls cross country team won its third straight SCISA Class 3A state championship Saturday, October 28, 2006. It's Hammond's eighth in ten years.
