Attention
"The construction on the building is going very well," William Blakeney, assistant principal at Dreher High School, said. Everything is going according to schedule in the building of the "new" Dreher High School. The new classrooms will be approximately 800-850 square feet which is 200 square feet larger than the current ones. The entire second floor of the school has been completed, and soon the entire facility will have permanent power. Some of the workers have already started painting, and others have started laying down tiles in the new locker rooms. People and furniture will be moving into the new school around May 7, 2007. The students will complete the school year in the old school, which means that the class of 2007 will be the last class to graduate from the old facility. It will be demolished completely on June 8, 2007, if the building process stays on track. The class of 2008 will be the first group of seniors to walk across the stage in the new school. A problem now is finding a place for the football team to practice since the construction will take up the field that they now use. "Dreher always finds a way to get things done," added Blakeney.
