The Assembly holds its 118th annual ball December 19, 2006 in the ballroom of the Columbia Marriott

The Assembly held its 118th annual ball Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at eight o'clock in the evening in the ballroom of the Columbia Marriott. Guests were received by Mrs. George Henry Bunch III, president, and Mr. Bunch; Mrs.Walter James Bristow III, president–elect, and Dr. Bristow; and the debutante daughters and granddaughters of the members.

The debutante daughters and granddaughters of the members were Anna Catherine Hines, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sewall Oliver Hines, granddaughter of Mrs. John Hampden Brooks, escorted by Mr. David Alan Burnie; Blanche Moorman Price, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Porter Price III, granddaughter of Mrs. John Heslep Moorman, escorted by Mr. George Parks Bunch; and Mariana Sara Haque, granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edmund Rhett Taylor, escorted by Mr. James Bentham Walker McKay.

The traditional debutante figure was led by Miss Hines and Mr. Adger Gaillard Ellison, senior leaders, and Miss Price and Mr. George Parks Bunch, junior leaders.

Dick Goodwin and his orchestra provided music for dancing and the debutante figure with Mr. Joseph Duffy Jones announcing the debutantes.

Following dinner, coffee was served from The Assembly’s antique coffee service by Mrs. Garden Stuart Clarkson, Mrs. Charles Summer Haltiwanger, Mrs. Charles Wilson Knowlton, and Mrs. John Robert Turner Major.
