WRESTLING Blue Devils to host Invitational

Dreher High School will play host to the 17th annual Blue Devil Invitational Jan. 12 and 13. It's an event Dreher head wrestling coach Paul Watson believes might be the marquis high school sporting event in the city of Columbia.

It features 2006 Class 3A and 2A state runners- up in North Myrtle Beach and Chesterfield along with 3A semifinalist Chapin. Also on hand is two- time defending SCISA champion Hammond. Other local teams include A.C. Flora, Airport, Blythewood, Brookland- Cayce, Irmo, Richland Northeast, Ridge View, and Spring Valley.
