Animal Protection League celebrates 25 years with fundraiser
The Animal Protection League (APL) will hold a Lowcountry Cookout January 20, 2007 to celebrate 25 years. There will be fun and festivities. Participants can sit by a roaring fire, fill up on great lowcountry fare, and enjoy live entertainment by Columbia's own Jim Leblanc. Food and fun will be served from 7- 11 pm at the University House Parking Facility located across the street from the State Fairgounds. Tickets are only $35 per person. A table for eight is $250. As always, all funds generated from ticket sales go directly to the care and support of the animals at the shelter. For more information, please call Chappie Vardell at 738-0099 or 767-3715. Contributors to the Animal Protection League's 25th anniversary fundraiser are Budweiser of Columbia, Tronco's Catering, Green's Beverages, and Palmetto Seafood. The APL shelter is located at 6080 Old Leesburg Road in Hopkins. Shelter hours are noon to 4 pm Wednesday through Sunday.
