The marriage of Angier Williams Johnston to Robert Alexander Miller III took place Saturday, January 6, 2007, at First Presbyterian Church, Richmond, Virginia. The Reverend Doctor Charles Allen Summers, minister of First Presbyterian Church, Richmond, and The Reverend John Turley DeBevoise, minister of Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, Tampa, Florida, officiated.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Claiborne Johnston Jr. of Richmond and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Angier Satterfield of Durham, NC, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis Claiborne Johnston of Richmond, was escorted by her father. Mrs. Miller is a graduate of the Lawrenceville School, Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Vanderbilt University, and the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. She was presented at the Bal du Bois in Richmond. She is director of marketing and communications, Academy of the Holy Names, Tampa, Florida.
Mr. Miller is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Alexander Miller Jr. and the grandson of Mrs. Robert Alexander Miller and the late Mr. Robert Alexander Miller, and Mrs. Richard Bedon Josey and the late Dr. Milledge Broadus Seigler, all of Columbia, SC. Mr. Miller is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead Scholar, and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He is vice president of International Development, Raymond James Financial, St. Petersburg, Florida.
Courtney Miller Cavatoni of Chicago, Illinois, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Louise East Apthorp of Tampa, Florida; Margaret Bouknight Bauer of Columbia, cousin of the bridegroom; Susanna Giles Holt of San Francisco, California; Sarah Seegers Karlo of Tampa; Laura Randolph Edge Kottkamp of Richmond; Daisy Bouknight Miller of Columbia, cousin of the bridegroom; Katherine Lee Moseley of San Mateo, Florida; Larkin Willis Nash and Elizabeth Kelly Parker both of New York; Lee Campbell Williams of Charlottesville, Virginia; and Margaret Mayo Williams of Arlington, Virginia.
The bridegroom's father served as best man. The groomsmen were Christopher Andrew Bachi of Alexandria, Virginia; William Harvey Bauer of Columbia; Bart Gallagher Busby of Atlanta, Georgia; Philip John Cavatoni, brother- in- law of the bridegroom of Chicago; Peter James Cazamias of San Antonio, Texas; Justin Ellis Dickens of Charleston, S.C.; Francis Claiborne Johnston III, brother of the bride, of New York; James Edwin Miller of Columbia; Jeremy Neely Parker and James McGregor Smyth Jr. both of New York; and Brian Edward Winstead of Greensboro, North Carolina.
Sarah Courtney Cavatoni and Roland Charles Cavatoni of Chicago, niece and newphew of the bridegroom, served as flower girl and ring bearer.
The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the bridegroom, was held at the Commonwealth Club. The reception, hosted by the parents of the bride, was held at The Country Club of Virginia.
After a wedding trip to Cap Juluca, Anguilla, the couple will reside in Tampa, Florida.
