The Dreher Blue Devils (11- 2, 3- 1) jumped out to a 10- 2 lead against the visiting Eau Claire Shamrocks (6- 6, 2- 3) Tuesday, Jan. 9 and never looked back on route to a 52- 34 3A Region III victory.

The Blue Devils used a patient approach to attack the Shamrock zone defense. Point Guard Jamie Blackman rarely dribbled or penetrated, opting to pass the ball around until one of the Dreher big men broke free in the paint which they often did.

Blue Devil junior center Case Stiglebauer started fast scoring eight of his nine points in the first period. Forward Kenneth Joyner exploded in the second period netting eight of his game- high 20. Sylvester McCrea added eight points from the other forward position.

Dreher's Kenneth Joyner goes for a rebound over Tyler Hill. Joyner led all scores with 20.
The Shamrock defense was effective creating turnovers, but the offense could not convert. Craig Foulks led Eau Claire with eight points. David Kearse added six. Tyler Hill, Stanley Young, and Xavier Preacher each finished with four.

The Blue Devils travel to A.C. Flora Friday Jan. 12 for a match- up with their arch rival while the Shamrocks next play host to the Blythewood Bengals.
