Richland One teachers earn National Board Certification
Contributed by Richland School
District One

Thirty- two Richland One teachers earned National Board Certification, the highest credential available in the teaching profession.

Along with having the prestigious designation as National Board-Certified teachers, these teachers will receive a $7,500 annual salary supplement from the state and an additional $5,500 a year from Richland One for every year they teach after receiving national certification, for the 10- year life of their certificates.

Since 1999, state legislators have supported National Board Certification as a tool to retain high- quality teachers in classrooms while in-creasing student achievement. The certification is awarded through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
