The winter meeting of the Captain John Chappell Chapter, Colonial Dames XVII Century, was held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Spring Valley Country Club with 23 members in attendance. Reports for the year were submitted to the outgoing president, Mrs. Phyllis Gale.

The nominating committee submitted its list of new officers for the upcoming two- year session. The group voted unanimously to accept the entire slate. Officers are state president, Mrs. Mary Jane Stallworth; president, Mrs. Frankie Abbott; vice president, Mrs. Dianne Benda; chaplain, Mrs. Mary Ann Hoffman; treasurer, Mrs. Nancy Hughes; registrar, Mrs. Mary Jane Stallworth; librarian, Ms. Mimi Sansbury; recording secretary, Ms. Mary Armstrong, and historian, Mrs. Jeannette Taylor. The annual statewide Conference for this group will be held Feb. 16- 17, 2007, at the Clarion Hotel.
