Polo Road hosts On the Other Hand

      The media center at Polo Road Elementary School was abuzz with activity Jan. 13 when the students became teachers. Polo Road Elementary, which opened its doors for the first time this past August, is already reaching out into the community.

      Sixty- seven of Richland Northeast High School's students and 2006 graduates have been cited by the College Board for their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program Exams administered last May.

Eleven schools make SIC honor roll

      Eleven South Carolina schools have made the School Improvement Council Honor Roll, the state SIC Board of Trustees announced recently. Those schools are now eligible for the Dick and Tunkey Riley School Improvement Award.

Two RNE students win Gold Key

      Six Richland Northeast High School visual arts students are winners in the 2006- 07 State Scholastic Art Competition at Lander University. Two of them, David Belton and Lyla Shon, won a Gold Key, the competition's highest award. Belton and Shon both will move on to the National competition.
