South Carolina History Writers Circle forms during S.C. Book Festival

Recognizing that authors are among the state's most stalwart keepers of history, the S.C. Archives and History Foundation has established a new category of membership, the S.C. History Writers' Circle. The founding authors in the new organization will be welcomed during the S.C. Book Festival.

The foundation will support these members, their work and literary events through its statewide newspaper, Passages , and on its website www.palmettohistory.org. Additionally, special behind- the- scenes tours of the archives and help from professional archivists will be available to members in this category.

Information on criteria for joining the circle will be available at the Foundation booth throughout the Book Festival, sponsored by the S.C. Humanities Council.
