Mr. and Mrs. Donald Parks Gardiner celebrate 50 years together February 24

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Parks Gardiner on their wedding day, Feb. 24, 1957.

Mary Ann Durrence and Donald Parks Gardiner were married February 24, 1957 in the Glennville Methodist Church, Glennville, Georgia. The couple has made Columbia home on Longbrook Road for forty six years. Mr. Gardiner retired in 1998 from T. M. Mayfields & Co. after 38 years. Mrs. Gardiner taught in elementary school for four years and quit to raise their five children: David Donald Gardiner and his wife Mena, Charles Andrew Gardiner and his wife Christina Papajohn, Mark Anderson Gardiner and his wife Stephanie Starnes, Lee Durrence Gardiner and his wife Jennifer Kehl, and Nancy Gay Riley and her husband Theodore Riley.

The Gardiners have thirteen grandchildren: Parks Anderson Gardiner, Christopher Evans Gardiner, David Alexander Gardiner, Chapman McCoy Gardiner, Rachel Caroline Gardiner, Anna Maria Gardiner, William Walker Gardiner, Andrew Charles Gardiner, Rebecca Faye Gardiner, Maryann Gardiner Riley, Elizabeth Duvall Riley, Theodore Dowling Riley Jr., and Charles Parks Riley.

The family plans to celebrate at Edisto Island, South Carolina, in June.
