The Columbia Star collects more awards

The South Carolina Press Association Awards Luncheon for the 71 weekly newspapers was held Feb. 23, 2007 at Embassy Suites. Mike Maddock, general manager for The Columbia Star, won second place for Best Column, his seventh award for 30 Something since 1999. He also won first place for Best Sports Headline and third place for Best Sports Special Edition; Mimi Maddock, executive editor won second place for Best Feature Headline; and John Temple Ligon, won first place for Best Business Reporting.
