Louise Preacher Tindal
1914- 2007

Mrs. Louise Preacher Tindal, age 93, died Sunday, February 25, 2007, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, S.C. She was born January 21, 1914, in Brunson, S.C., the daughter of the late Henry Arren Preacher and Susanne Louise Schmidt Preacher and was the wife of the late James Earl Tindal. Mrs. Tindal retired from Lancaster County Schools as an elementary school teacher, was a member of various organizations including the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Huguenot Society, and of Christ Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Tindal is survived by a son, William Conner Tindal Sr. and his wife, Melinda, of Lancaster; a daughter, Suzanne Louise Brooks Tindal Mitchell and her husband, Edward, of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Evelyn Preacher Rollins of Charleston; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Bradford Tindal Harbison, William Conner Tindal Jr., Jeanne Marie Tindal McRae, Caroline Grace Tindal Kirk, Jennifer Brooks Tindal Dickinson; and 14 great grandchildren, Julia Louise Harbison, Catherine Harbison, Emily Tindal, Elise Tindal, Lauren Tindal, Hannah McRae, Joshua McRae, Bradford McRae, Will McRae, Brice Kirk, Anna Kirk, Cooper Kirk, Avery Dickinson, and Adam Dickinson.

Mrs. Tindal was preceded in death by a son, James Earl Tindal Jr. and three brothers: James Preacher, Brooks Preacher, and Arren Preacher.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Tindal was February 27, 2007, at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jesse Hegler. The burial service was private.

The family of Mrs. Tindal suggests memorial contributions be made to South Carolina Department of Archives and History, 8301 Parklane Road, Columbia, SC 29223.
