Project Pet and honored guests celebrated life for the companion animals of the Midlands with Philip T. Myers performing at the Newberry Opera House Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007. In addition to benefiting the shelter animals of Project Pet, this year's performance was also a celebration honoring the life and memory of Corporal David Gardner Weimortz, who honorably gave his life while serving our country in Iraq. Also honored were Buck's Shadow, the Honorary War Dog; and Bob & Ila Woodwyk, Project Pet volunteers; who have donated thousands of hours to Project Pet over the past eight years.
Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the many abandoned and abused pets that come into the care of Project Pet from local area shelters during 2007.
Project Pet is a 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization registered with the S.C. Secretary of State and the Internal Revenue Service. All donations are tax deductible to the extent provided for by the law.
