The 2007 Compleat Lawyer Awards
Nine South Carolina lawyers have been chosen as the 2007 recipients of The Compleat Lawyer Awards. The awards were established in 1992 by the USC Law School Alumni Association to recognize alumni for outstanding civic and professional accomplishments. The awards are presented in three categories: Platinum, Gold, and Silver. The Platinum Award is given to three attorneys who have been in practice for over 30 years. The Platinum winners are J. Lewis Cromer, Cromer and Mabry; Coming B. Gibbs Jr., Gibbs & Holmes, P.C.; and H. David Whitener Jr., Whitener & Wharton, P.A. The Gold Award is presented to three attorneys who have been in practice for 15- 30 years. The Gold winners are David E. Dukes, Nelson, Mullins, Riley and Scarborough, LLP; Charles W. Patrick Jr., Richardson, Patrick, Westbrook, and Brickman, LLC; and J. Mark Taylor, Moore, Taylor, and Thomas, P.A. The Silver Award is presented to three attorneys who have been in practice for 14 years or less. The Silver winners are Anne Macon Flynn, S.C. State Budget and Control Board; Dale R. "Bubba" Samuel, Jarrard and Davis, LLP; and Lorri Shealy Unumb, Charleston School of Law. The honored recipients will receive Compleat Lawyer Award medals at a reception and dinner on April 19, 2007, 6 pm at The Capitol City Club.
