Miss Smarr and Major Laymon plan a May wedding in Columbia

Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Anderson Smarr announce the engagement of their daughter Lisa Kathryn Smarr to Major Paul Wayne Laymon.

The bride- elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Virgil Satterfield and the late Dr. and Mrs. Roy Gilmore Smarr. The bride- elect graduated from Spring Valley High School and the University of South Carolina with a BA degree in physical education.

The bridegroom- elect is the son of Mr. Donald Laymon and Mrs. Florence Kargel. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kezar of Viking, Minnesota, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Laymon of Warren, Minnesota. The bridegroom- elect graduated from Walker High School and the University of South Carolina with a BA degree in geography.

A May wedding is planned in Columbia.
