15th year for the Palmetto Cup

The 2007 Palmetto Cup will be held April 4- 7 at the Brookland- Cayce High School stadium known as The Cage in Cayce and at Airport High School's Eagle Stadium in West Columbia.

This is the 15th year for the annual soccer tournament, and it includes 12 of S.C.'s finest boys' soccer programs along with four nationally recognized programs.

The cost is $15 for a tournament pass or $5 per match. The championship match will be held at 7 pm, April 7 at The Cage. For more information visit www.scsoccer.com/bcsoccer.

The 2007 Palmetto Cup, is tabbed as "The Southeast's Premier Boys High School Soccer Tournament" by StudentSportSoccer.com. Joining the host teams, Brookland- -Cayce and Airport, are nationally renowned programs Christian Brothers (Memphis, Tenn.); Farragut (Knoxville, Tenn); Kelly Walsh (Casper, Wyo.); and Norman North (Norman, Okla). Only Christian Brothers is new to the Palmetto Cup field. Norman North will make its fifth appearance. Farragut and Kelly Walsh each return for the second consecutive year. Completing the tournament field are Palmetto State Powers: Daniel, Dorman, Dutch Fork, Fort Mill, Lexington, Northwestern, Pinewood Prep, Riverside, Spring Valley, and Wando.
