365 days just isn't enough!
It's official; the announcement is hot off the press. Boy and Girl are engaged and have told their families and friends about it. Even though the news is real, it doesn't really seem that way for Boy and Girl.
At this point Boy and Girl should be basking in the engagement glow. They should take time to get used to this life- altering decision, and most importantly, Girl should take advantage of people asking to see her ring.
But there's something lurking underneath all of that excitement. On the tip of everyone's tongue, mainly family members, there's a question waiting to be asked.
Have Girl and Boy set a date yet? It's easy to tell when someone is going to ask it. They get in Girl's face and glare at Boy. Girl has to be prepared for the question because Boy always seems to disappear at the right moment.
No matter what time of year Girl says she is thinking about for the big day, it won't work. Football season is during August, September, October, and November, and then there's Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Okay, fair enough, so Girl tries to satisfy everyone because, God forbid, a family member or a "best" friend might not attend.
Boy wonders what the big deal is. He's happy as long as it's not on a football weekend. Mother- in- Law to Be wants to make sure Aunt Ruth can make it because if not she will hear about it the rest of her life. Daddy doesn't care as long as Girl keeps the costs down. Sister just wants to wear comfortable shoes.
Girl makes the big decision. Boy says fine. And the stress continues...
