Judy Randall sings with the Jimmy Farr during Rooftop of Midtown April 12.

Rooftop Rhythms gave the public a special treat when The Jimmy Farr Orchestra played a classic mix of Big Band and Swing music, some of which was accompanied by the amazing vocals of Judy Randall, Thursday, April 12.

Jordan Anderson, championship Legends car racer and life- long Forest Acres resident was there to showcase the new logo on the hood of his car touting Forest Acres and the Forest Acres Restaurant and Merchants' Association's support of their hometown son.

Jordan, who is now 15 has been racing since the age of seven or eight and has amassed quite a collection of trophies in his racing career.

He brought along his first go- kart and first car to let the youngsters, like young Clare Pacella, try out the driver's seat. Anderson signed autographs and chatted with the crowd while the band played.

Mayor Pro Tem Curtis Rye, Mayor Frank Brunson, Councilwoman Ginger Dukes and Councilman Shell Suber took time to check out the car, the music, and the crowd.

Mike McIntosh and Jeff Thore who are running for a seat on council in May were also there to meet, greet, and campaign.

The music caused many to tap their toes and bob their heads, and some like Tim Jenkins and Angela Norton got up and danced. Others like Karen Slager and Emmy, a former rescue dog, were just there to enjoy the spring air and the draw of good music.

It was a fine evening in Forest Acres to enjoy, good music, fine company, and the small town ambience of this little land- locked oasis in the midst of a constantly growing and changing Columbia Metropolitan Area.

The Whatever Band will perform on the Rooftop of Midtown in Forest Acres Thursday, April 19, 6- 9 pm.
