Sertoma Clubs honor their own

Bill Todd (r), president of the Richland Sertoma Club congratulates member Jack Sterne who was selected the Sertoman of the Year for Richland Sertoma Club and also for the Wade Hampton District of Sertoma International for 2006- 2007.

Jack K. Sterne Sr. has been named Sertoman of the Year for the Wade Hampton District of Sertoma International for 2006-2007. The district includes a dozen Sertoma clubs in the central South Carolina area. To be considered for Sertoman of the Year for the District, Sterne earlier was chosen Sertoman of the Year for the Richland Sertoma Club, his home club.

Sterne has been a member of the Richland Sertoma Club for more than 20 years, and has held all club offices as well as several statewide, district and regional offices.

Sertoma International is an international civic and service organization which raises money for speech and hearing impaired children. The word Sertoma stands for Service to Mankind. The Richland Sertoma Club has been in existence since 1959.
