Highlanders out volley Skyhawks
The Heathwood Hall Highlanders took a big step towards the Region 2- 3A boys tennis regular season championship by defeating the Hammond Skyhawks at Hammond 5- 4 Tuesday, April 17. The victory did not come easy though. The Skyhawks led 3- 2 with singles victories from Andy Greenberg, Ben Horst, and Ira Usry, but in the longest match of the day Heathwood Hall's Baker West outlasted Hammond's Palmer Keenan for a 6- 4, 7- 5 victory sending the match to doubles for a decision. West then partnered with Michael Rabb to defeat Ted Lydon and Ira Usry in doubles play. John Burg and Will Becker defeated Ben Horst and Grayson Hart next to give the Highlanders the victory.
