Contributed by
Susan Levi Wallach

Layton Williamson is the second senior at Richland Northeast High School to win a place in Clemson University's prestigious program, TREE (Transatlantic Exchange of Economics). The program is a new four- year dual- degree program administered by Clemson, UniversiteCatholique de Louvain in Belgium, and Universiteit Maastricht in The Netherlands.

Like Sean Friend, who was accepted in March, Williamson will study at both Clemson and Louvain, receiving a degree in economics from each at the conclusion of his undergraduate studies.

In addition, he will study at Maastricht for one semester. Williamson also is a student in the AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics classes taught by Bill McCormick.
