Timmerman eighth grader wins Lieutenant Governor's Writing Award

Danielle Snodgrass, an eighth grader at Timmerman School in Forest Acres, won the 2007 S.C. Lieutenant Governor's Writing Award for eighth graders in Region 2.

Snodgrass, daughter of Lt. Col. and Mrs. David Snodgrass, was presented her award by Lt. Gov. André Bauer during a ceremony in St. Andrews.

The topic of her award winning essay was What Really Makes My School Stand Out . In her essay Snodgrass points out that Timmerman has outstanding teachers who are preparing her for high school. She also states that Timmerman is like a "small town" where awesome classmates make coming to school a pleasure.

Timmerman School, founded in 1954, is an independent K- 3 through eighth grade school with 440 students.
