Women increase opportunities for higher education
Chapter U, PE.O., is a women's philanthropic and educational organization interested in bringing to women increased opportunities for higher education. The group presented their Spring Fashion Show, March 28, 2007, at Carrabba's Italian Grill. Proceeds from the fashion show will be used to fund scholarships. This year's Grant recipients are Kay Linkous, Wendy McLaughlin, Stephanie Simpson, Jennifer Poel, Beverly Byrd, all of Columbia, and Ann Brailford of Aiken and Summer Johnson- Black of Beach Island. The grants ranged from $500 to $1,500.
