Charley's Columbia Backyard receives House resolution

Caroline Coleman Bennett, author of Charley's Columbia Backyard was introduced and presented a framed House Resolution (H.4050) May 17, 2007, in the House of Representatives by Representative James H. Harrison who represents District 75 in Richland County. Shown in the photo are (l- r back row) Rep. Harrison, Caroline Coleman Bennett, author; Paula Hayne Bowers, illustrator; (front row, left), Toni OgunFowora, who posed as Bernard in the book and Coleman Bennett, Bennett's eight- year- old son who posed as Charley. After the presentation in the House, Caroline, Paula, Toni, and Coleman were introduced in the Senate by Senator Joel Lourie. Afterwards, a booksigning followed in the State House Lobby. Caroline is the daughter of Charles and Barbara Coleman of Columbia.
