Presidents predict two touchdown wins
By Margaret Taylor Cain

Thomas Hipp, president of Heathwood Hall Episcopal School, Margaret Taylor Cain, cub reporter for The Columbia Star and student at Heathwood Hall and Arthur Corontzes, president of Hammond School.

I had the pleasure of interviewing the rising student body presidents Thomas Hipp from Heathwood Hall Episcopal School and Arthur Corontzes from Hammond School. I wanted to ask a few questions about the upcoming school year.

MT: What are y'all looking foward to as presidents in the 2007- 2008 school year?

Arthur : Well, organizing the pep rallies will defidently be a highlight. Getting our school riled up to beat Thomas will be fun, but heading the Student Council will be a definite challange.

Thomas : I'm looking forward to many things this upcoming year. Running Morning Meeting is an event that will be a lot of fun. Working with the faculty and fellow peers is exciting. Just all the challenges that being President brings is exciting in itself.

MT: Is there a chance of Hammond and Heathwood working together next year?

Thomas : Of course, Arthur and I have already thrown out some ideas. Possibly have a swap and visit each other's school and see how they run. If there is anything we like at Hammond, we may try to instill it in our student council.

Arthur : Despite our heated athletic rivalry, I believe Hammond and Heathwood are extremely similar, and our schools could benefit from a healthy relationship.

MT: Who is going to win the football game?

Thomas : Heathwood will win by two touchdowns.

Arthur : Maybe if our entire team breaks their legs! Hammond will win by two touchdowns.

MT: Thank you boys, and goodluck.
