Part 10: Roses are red, violets are blue, and they're all expensive
By Anne- Kathryn Bultman

Boy and Girl are still trying to plan their wedding without putting all folks involved in bankruptcy. They've done a decent job thus far, but there's one issue that seems to keep popping up when it comes to the budget - the flowers!

Girl wants to have flowers at the wedding, but she doesn't want to go overboard. So Girl has made it clear to the florist that she won't spend more on the flowers than she did on her dress. Still, those petals seem to add up.

The bridesmaids' bouquets won't be cheap unless Girl picks them out of someone's backyard, so Girl decides to get what she wants. The centerpiece that goes on the food table at the reception is one of the most expensive things, and not many people will notice it. But Girl knows that she needs to have at least one.

But there's another flower issue that Girl suddenly remembers- Girl wants all of her guests to throw flower petals at her and Boy when they leave the reception. The idea seems simple enough, besides Boy refuses to pick birdseed out of Girl's hair for the rest of the evening, and Girl is definitely not going to pick it off his back when the groomsmen drop it down his shirt.

Girl decides to talk to her mother about the flower petals, and Girl's mother tells her that they will be expensive. Boy tells Girl that she can't spend $300 on something people will throw on the ground. The florist tells Girl that it will probably be expensive no matter what type of flower she uses, even if she uses carnation petals.

Then the florist tells Girl that she can go to the Dollar General and cut up a bunch of silk flowers and use them. Girl is mortified and would rather spend the money on seeds and grow the flowers herself. Unfortunately, Girl has to wait for the florist to call her back with a price before she can make any decision, but no matter what Girl is DEFINITELY leaving the reception smelling like the sweet scent of rose petals.

Girl had no idea that she should have been saving all of the petals she pulled off flowers when she played "He loves me, He loves me not."
