First female in Richland County graduates from the FBI National Academy

Captain Roxanna Meetze

Captain Roxanna Meetze has become the first female deputy in Richland County history to complete the Federal Bureau of Investigations, National Academy Program.

Sheriff Leon Lott said Captain Meetze received her diploma during a graduation ceremony that was held in Quantico, Virginia.

Sheriff Leon Lott, a graduate of the FBI National Academy Program, said the internationally recognized training for leaders and executives will not only help Captain Meetze in her career but will help the Richland County Sheriff's Department continue to build a professional law enforcement agency.

Sheriff Leon Lott added that the rigorous and complex training, both physically and academically, will help Captain Meetze personally and professionally.

The Academy Program is designed to provide management and investigative training that Captain Meetze will be able to apply in her role as the Community Services Division Commander at the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff Leon Lott continues to staff the Richland County Sheriff's Department with genders and cultures who reflect the community that protects and serves the department thereby, creating a sense of accessibility and trust.

Captain Meetze is an example to the community and to other officers of what one can accomplish when high personal goals are set, and one is committed to meeting and exceeding those goals.

Sheriff Leon Lott said Captain Meetze emulates what all law enforcement officers should strive to become; professional, dedicated, and innovative.

Sheriff Leon Lott is proud of Captain Meetze's accomplishment, and he knows first hand what Captain Meetze experienced at the FBI National Academy. It will be invaluable to her and to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
