Capt. Scott Acree has 17 years of Air Force active duty and over three years in the Air Force Reserves. He has been in private practice as a physician's assistant for the past four years. He shared many helpful insights with the St. Andrew's Rotary Club about joint and bone health, and discussed his military career.
As an Air Force cryptolinguist, he decoded messages from enemy troops while flying reconnaissance missions in Southeast Asia. His specialties were Vietnamese and Japanese. Henry Strohecker, a Rotarian, served at approximately the same time in the same capacity. His specialty was Chinese.
Acree explained a project underway in our community. While attending his son's sports tournaments and offering immediate care to injured athletes, he realized the need for a larger program. He is currently working toward having a professional orthopedist or physician's assistant at soccer tournament games at Irmo High School and Columbia United Football Club Games in the future.
