2007 Eastover Ruritan scholarship recipients
The Eastover Ruritan Club presented $4500 in scholarship money to local students at a picnic on Tuesday, July 17. The scholarship money was raised at the Club's bi- annual Oyster and Shrimp Roast, which began in 1976 and is the oldest roast in the state. Eastover Club President George Martin and National Ruritan President Jimmy Bristow presented the scholarships. The 2007 Scholarship recipients are (l to r) Michelle Thilges, Casey Clark, Erin Jordan, Brent Gregory, and Sallie Chappell. The students received the first half of their scholarship money Tuesday night. In order to prove their dedication and receive the second portion of the scholarship, the student's will present their grades to the club in December.
