I now pronounce you ...TOTALLY EXHAUSTED!
By Anne- Kathryn Bultman Anne@TheColumbiaStar.com

One wedding tradition the bride and groom continue to follow is having a flower girl and ring bearer in the ceremony, but Girl and Boy may want to think this through before they order a tiny white dress and miniature tuxedo.

Usually, the couple ask the smallest members of their respective families to be the flower girl and ring bearer. How can Boy and Girl choose between Girl's cousin and Boy's nephew? What if Boy and Girl don't have a family member young enough fill the oh- so- cute position?

However, even if Boy and Girl do have the perfect people in mind, there are a few other things to consider before handing out the responsibility. The flower girl and ring bearer must be under the age of five. (Anyone above this age loses cute factor points and/or really doesn't want to do it.) But while Boy and Girl are extremely excited to walk down the aisle, the flower girl and ring bearer may have a different idea about walking down that long aisle in front of Boy and Girl's 500 closest friends and family.

The flower girl and ring bearer may have been oh- so- cute at the rehearsal but what about the big day? At one wedding, the ring bearer cried all the way down the aisle and refused to stand at the altar. He ran off screaming to his parents. Another ring bearer played ball with the teeny- tiny pillow while the ring rolled out of sight.

What if the flower girl and ring bearer like being in front of all those people and decide to take center stage? One bride had the utmost pleasure of a spotlight- stealing flower girl and ring bearer when the two decided to get into a fight during the ceremony. While the bride and groom promised to love, honor, and obey, the flower girl and ring bearer were beating the heck out of each other rolling around on the floor.

Maybe it would be better for everyone if all of Boy and Girl's wedding party were folks old enough to vote.
