Janice Stoudemire, accounting instructor at Midlands Technical College, received national recognition with the All- Star Award from the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Stoudemire accepted the award in July at the 2007 ACBSP Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida.

Stoudemire is one of only four people in the last eight years to receive the award.

The All- Star Award is given by the staff of ACBSP when a volunteer leader performs significant service that assures the success of a project and the leader operates as staff for the project or projects.

This past year, Stoudemire developed and implemented several major projects to support the efforts of staff at ACBSP, which included developing a presentation for all regional meetings focusing on how to accurately complete Quality Assurance Reports.

Stoudemire also coordinated all the presentations for the Associate Degree Pre-Conference Workshop, including making the lead presentation. For all this and more, she became an ACBSP All- Star.

Stoudemire has served on the ACBSP Board of Directors since 2005 and as a commissioner on the ACBSP Associate Degree Commission since 2003; she was chair of the commission in 2005- 2006 and 2007- 2008.

In those roles, she serves on the executive, audit, nominating, and standards deployment committees. With the ACBSP, Stoudemire has served as a site evaluator, received training as an ACBSP mentor, and chairs the Accounting Principles Task Force.

The Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs is the leading specialized accreditation association for business education supporting, celebrating, and rewarding teaching excellence.

The association embraces the virtues of teaching excellence and emphasizes to students it is essential to learn how to learn.

ACBSP acknowledges the importance of scholarly research and inquiry and believes that such activities facilitate improved teaching.
