Military call home

Military personnel in Iraq are able to keep in touch with home via several phone options. Some are expensive, some a bit complicated. I.E:

• SPAWARE phones cost $25 for about 20 hours of call time and can be used at only limited locations.

• International phone cards can be bought at the PX or at special trailers made for only AT&T calls.

• A "morale call" home is free at places that have government DSN phones.

• Iraqna prepaid cellular phones can be bought for about $130 each. Call- minutes cost $24 for 20 minutes. This is an expensive option, but popular because you can go anywhere with the phone for privacy.

• Soldiers can use any phone card from home on a DSN phone without additional charge.
