Skyhawks still soaring

Hammond linebacker Stone Pinckney was once again a man among boys leading his Skyhawks to a 26- 14 win over the visiting Orangeburg Prep Indians September 7.

Pinckney had 20 tackles, three sacks, and forced a fumble helping the Skyhawk defense hold the Indians to 263 total yards. Austin Hood added 13 tackles for Hammond while Will Patterson got ten and a sack. Josh Walters recorded an interception and blocked a kick.

Hammond quarterback Cliff Ayers completed 50% of his passes for 189 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Kyle George led the Skyhawk rushing attack with 31 rushes for 194 yards. Taylor Smith added 69 yards and one touchdown on just four attempts.

Aaron Walters caught two passes for 97 yards and a touchdown while A.D. Briggs caught four for 53 yards and a touchdown.

The number one ranked Skyhawks will travel to Sumter September 14 for a battle with second ranked Wilson Hall.
Kyle George led the Skyhawk rushing attack with 31 rushes for 194 yards.
