Barnwell limits In 2008, the Barnwell low- level radioactive waste landfill will cease accepting waste from any state other than Connecticut, New Jersey, and South Carolina. Last March, by a 16- 0 vote, a S.C. House committee defeated a bill that would have kept the waste site open to all states for another 15 years.
