The Lugoff- Elgin Demons returned back- to- - back interceptions for touchdowns in the fourth quarter to defeat the A.C. Flora Falcons at Lugoff- Elgin 21- 6 September 28. The first one came at the 4:31 mark of the fourth quarter when Drew Desmond tried a short out pattern to tight- end Adger Rice on fourth down- and- one from the Lugoff- Elgin 34- yard line. Jo Jo Kirkland stepped in front of the pass for the Demons and raced 66 yards for the touchdown.

The next interception came on the very next series for the Falcons. Down 14- 6 and facing third- and- 11 at the Flora 45- yard line, the Falcons threw across the field but Lugoff- Elgin's J. Baxter was waiting in perfect position to intercept the pass and return it 50+ yards for the final touchdown.

During the run back, frustrations spilled over a bit and several small skirmishes occurred, which drew three unsportsmanlike penalties. The coaching staffs for both teams and referees quickly controlled the situation.

Frustration was the key word for the Falcons all night. After giving up an 80- yard, 6:48 drive touchdown drive to Lugoff- Elgin on the Demons' opening drive and recovering a Demon fumble at the Falcon 8- yard line on the Demons' next possession, the Falcon defense despite having multiple starters out due to injury forced an interception and four punts on Lugoff- Elgin's next five possessions.

While the Falcon offense struggled in the first half fumbling the snap on a punt attempt, throwing an interception, and punting twice, A.C. Flora dominated time of possession and had several opportunities to score in the second half.

The Falcons controlled the ball the first ten minutes of the third quarter driving from their own 19- yard line to the Lugoff- Elgin two- yard line. They were successful on two fourth down conversions; one for six yards and the other a fourth- and- inches play.

Otis Praylow was the workhorse for A.C. Flora rushing nine times for 28 yards. He finished with 110 yards on 29 carries. But the Falcons were unsuccessful on a third attempt at a fourth down conversion fumbling on the Lugoff- Elgin two- yard line.

The Falcon defense forced a three- and- out and Eric Sephes returned the Lugoff- Elgin punt to the two- yard line, but multiple blocks in the back brought the return back to the Demon 28- yard line.

A.C. Flora pounded the ball to the three- yard line with five straight Praylow runs. Then three plays later, Desmond snuck it in from the 6" line, but the Demons blocked the point- after attempt making the score 7- 6.

The Falcon defense forced another Lugoff- Elgin punt, but the next two offensive possessions for the Falcons ended in the interceptions.

A.C. Flora controlled the ball for 18:07 of the second half compared to Lugoff- Elgin's 5:53 and they out- gained the Demons 130 yards to 13.
